The Personal Attendant for Leisure (PAL) Card helps people with disabilities enjoy recreation and community activities in Thunder Bay by allowing a support person (friend, family member, or paid worker) to accompany them into many recreation facilities free of charge. Thunder Bay
Join us for an online Peer Connection session where we’ll explain what the PAL Card is, how to apply, and how to make the most of it in your community.
In this session we will cover:
• What the PAL Card is and who is eligible to apply
• What facilities and programs accept the PAL Card (pools, gyms, museums, parks, classes, and more)
• How a support person can use the PAL Card to support participation
• The application process, including reference and photo requirements
• Temporary PAL Cards (e.g., for recovery after surgery or injury)
• Tips for planning your recreation visits with PAL support
• Time for questions and discussion
Whether you’re new to the PAL Card or want to better understand how it can support your community participation, this session is for you.
