Help Build Ontario's First Accessible Housing Registry
For thousands of Ontarians living with disabilities, finding accessible housing can be one of the greatest barriers to independence and community participation.
Accessible homes exist throughout Ontario, but there is currently no centralized place to find them. People searching for barrier-free housing often face a fragmented and frustrating process, while property owners and housing providers struggle to connect available accessible units with the people who need them most.
We believe there is a better way.
The Accessible Housing Registry will be a province-wide digital platform designed to connect people with disabilities to accessible housing opportunities across Ontario.
The registry will provide a centralized, easy-to-use resource where property owners, developers, realtors, housing providers, and property managers can list accessible units, and where prospective tenants can search for housing that meets their unique accessibility needs.
By bringing accessible housing information together in one place, we can help individuals find suitable housing more quickly while protecting and strengthening Ontario’s accessible housing supply.
We are seeking community partners, donors, foundations, businesses, and individuals who share our vision of a more accessible Ontario.
An initial investment of $50,000 will fund the first year of development, including platform design, accessibility testing, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and administration.
Every contribution brings us closer to creating a resource that can transform how people with disabilities find and secure accessible housing.
Together, we can build a housing system that is easier to navigate, more inclusive, and more responsive to the needs of Ontarians with disabilities.
