Empower people with the knowledge and support they need to rebuild their lives and overcome the many complex challenges that come with a spinal cord injury.

Be part of over 80 years of changing what is possible after a spinal cord injury.

A spinal cord injury throws every part of your life into turmoil and places complicated barriers in the way of your well being.

Your physical health, mental health, family, friendships, home, finances, love life, work, recreation … everything in your life, is changed by a spinal cord injury.

It is easy to become overwhelmed, not see a way forward, and lose hope.

Spinal Cord Injury Ontario was created to make certain no one has to face the challenges of a spinal cord injury alone.

Spinal Cord Injury Ontario’s unique knowledge and supports are informed by over 80 years of experience serving the spinal cord injury community:

Spinal Cord Injury Ontario was created in 1945 by Veterans injured in World War 2 who rejected institutionalization and created an organization to empower their fight for full and fair lives and opened what they built to serve all who needed help (our founding name was the Canadian Paraplegic Association).

Tens of thousands of lives have been positively transformed thanks to the caring people who have joined us in redefining what is possible after a spinal cord injury.
