The Influence of work disability policies on the return-to-work process of individuals with SCI in Canada

University of Ottawa

The Rehabilitation Sciences program at the University of Ottawa explores the return-to-work (RTW) process among individuals with SCI living in Ontario. Using a case study approach guided by the HDM-DCP2 model, the study aims to understand how work disability policies and their implementation influence the RTW experiences of both employed and unemployed individuals with SCI. Data will be collected through semi-structured interviews and document reviews, and analyzed through cross-case synthesis. The findings will contribute to improving work disability policies and rehabilitation practices that support equitable employment opportunities for people with SCI.
