Join us for an exciting and inclusive afternoon at our Wheelchair Curling Try-It Day, happening at the Fort William Curling Club in Thunder Bay. This event is open to everyone—whether you’re a seasoned curler, brand new to the sport, or simply curious about what wheelchair curling is all about.
When: Saturday, November 15, 2025
Time: 1:30 pm
Location: Fort William Curling Club, 218 Vickers Street, Thunder Bay
Accessible Entrance: Just off the parking lot at the club
Wheelchair curling is one of the most accessible and enjoyable adaptive sports in Canada. It’s about strategy, teamwork, and a good sense of fun—and it’s easier to learn than you might think. This is your chance to give it a try in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
If you already use a wheelchair, feel free to bring your own. If you’re ambulatory but want to experience what wheelchair curling is like, we’ll have a couple of wheelchairs available for you to use at the club. Our volunteers and experienced curlers will be on hand to help you get started, demonstrate techniques, and answer any questions you might have.
No equipment or prior experience is necessary—just dress comfortably, bring your curiosity, and be ready for a great time on the ice. Whether you’re trying something new, meeting others in the community, or simply looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting for you.
Bring your enthusiasm—everything else is provided. We can’t wait to see you there and share the joy of curling together.
