SCIO’s Peer Support Volunteer Training – Scenario-Based Training will offer an engaging virtual learning experience for prospective volunteers across Ontario. Hosted on Microsoft Teams, this 60–90 minute session will bring participants together in a roundtable format to read, discuss, and respond to peer support scenarios to demonstrate and develop practical skills. Active verbal participation and camera use are required to support a collaborative environment.
To be eligible, participants must be living with a spinal cord injury (SCI) for at least two years, feel adjusted to life after SCI, and complete preliminary Peer Support Volunteer training requirements: (1) Volunteer screening call, (2) SCI-Alberta Peer Support Training Certificate before May 26 (available online by requesting login credentials).
