Accessible Air Travel Orientation — Pearson International Airport

A hands-on, 3-hour orientation to accessible air travel. Airport Authority and Air Canada staff will walk participants through the full journey—from check-in and security to boarding—featuring demonstrations of aisle-chair use and safe transfer techniques.

Time: 11:00 AM–2:15 PM
Location: Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
Hosts: GTAA (Airport Authority) & Air Canada

 

Who should register:

  • Individuals with SCI who use a wheeled mobility device (e.g., wheelchair)
  • Caregivers and family members welcome
  • Must have transportation to the airport (note: Wheel-Trans serves Pearson)

Information required (for security):

  • Full legal name (exactly as on government-issued ID)
  • Date of birth
  • Government-issued ID

Consent & parking:

After registration closes, Informed Consent and Assumption of Risk and Media Release forms will be provided. Parking vouchers will be issued to confirmed participants.

Volunteer demo opportunity:
GTAA is seeking a few participants to demonstrate transfer techniques and aisle-chair procedures. If you’re up for it, please mention this in your email.
